Looks like Lawrence was right?

For weeks now, Lawrence O'Donnell has been saying that this whole Greenland thing is a distraction from the Epstein files. I was ambivalent about his theory, but it looks like he was right. The only thing I would add that is that it is also a distraction from Ukraine. If this debacle hadn't engulfed the entire meeting, Europe would have been pressuring trump about Ukraine.

TACO strikes again, and the corporate media obliges by NOT reporting on what trump doesn't want covered.

And, on a scale of 1 to 10 - is about a thousand times more important - (employing almost any meaningful measuring stick)

Trump is using an invented "problem" with Greenland that he created to distract from Epstein. That's why it's propaganda.

Greenland is a REAL deal. When the U.S. president is moving publicly and with real intent - against NATO. That is not 'puffery' and/or 'distraction'. That's real world demolition and disorder - served up large.

And when history shines back its mirror on this period ... The big mystery will always remain - what on earth were all these people nattering on about .. ? When this narcissistic megalomaniac was dismantling world order in real time .. ?

If anything represents shiny trinkets and baubles here - it is the fixation with Epstein.

and got talked out of it because someone explained to him things like NATO, WWIII, and Europe's ability to dump our debt. Or if he didn't get it, enough Republicans understood, to say no (in private).

The timing might have been about Epstein, but not the substance.

files. Although now everyone has to wait to see what the next shoe will be to drop for distraction.

Edit to add: I might be pretty nervous if I was living in Cuba right now.

Whatever it takes. Our only hope is that someone will leak it, or reporters will put it all together. At grave risk to themselves.

In a way, he’s probably ok with some of the details leaking out, because it’s more evidence of what a “man” he is and how he got so much action from young girls.

Remember this is one seriously sick fuck we’re talking about. The girls were trophies and he knows his base is fine with it. Child rape, pedophilia? Meh, no big deal. As long he’s hurting the people he should be hurting, right?

He also figures he’s got Bondi doing the dirty work for him to delay as long as possible. It works well for him since the courts are useless in forcing anything to happen. Simultaneously, he feels like he’s won already. After all, Epstein himself is dead and well… who’s going to do anything about it? Republicans? Hahahaha

As for Greenland, I think it’s about mineral rights and wanting a legacy of expansion. He’s obsessed with McKinley — the tariffs and increasing US territory with Hawaii.

Ultimately both Greenland and his assault with ICE are about his ego and wanting people to bow down before him and recognizing his true greatness.

Everything de facto is a distraction from it.

But, its actually giving him too much credit to say its all done for that reason, he isnt nearly that thoughtful about things, and it takes away from his truly deranged he is - he wants to blow shit up, kill people actually take Greenland as a trophy and pillage it like he did w Venezuela, etc., etc., etc.
