Does calling Rep. Hakeem Jeffries office cause him to change his position? Does writing letters do anything?
I really want to know from others experience. I gave this up years ago, leaving messages and speaking to staff, which I suspect are interns assigned the phone. Does it make any difference? Will a representative change his position from calls?

(54,660 posts)I wondered the same thing when I started calling every single GOP senator. I've done this a lot since 2016 and the reason I continue to call them is because my niece was a staffer at our CA congressman's office in DC for a summer. She said the staffers really do write down the info and they pass it on.
My problem is that I like to get more bang for my efforts so I mainly call the GOP senators and congresscritters to complain. I pretend I am an angry constituent and I even provide a fake address within their district just in case there is doubt. I plan what I want to say and I say it fast before they can ask me too many questions about verifying my identity.
As we've seen they will do whatever is prudent and beneficial for them. Republicans will always vote with party no matter what.
