I'm old enough to remember when Republicans carried around a pocket sized copy of the Constitution,

…thumping it like the Bible, overwrought that “jackbooted thugs” would come and take your guns.

How times have changed. Today, they’re ok with ICE violating the 4th Amendment, breaking down your door without a warrant, and taking you.

It was all a lie.

They are probably now carrying a copy of the mission statement of the KKK. Much more in keeping with their philosophy. ratchiweenie Jan 22 #5
I disagree. Some of them actually believed it. But here's the thing: Vogon_Glory Jan 22 #6

A lot of them were Silent Generation (Born during the Depression and before), others were early Baby Boomers ( born in the 1940’s), and some were former Dixiecrats. Those who haven’t sold out have either aged out of active office or have been meeting the Grim Reaper up close and personal, joining Whigs and Bull Moose Party operatives in the Great Hereafter.

Why don't the Democrats carry the Pocket Constitution and show it every time they go on television?

Shove it back in the face of the Republicans.

Admittedly, I don't walk around with them in my pocket, but I do use them to look up things from time to time.

One is right beside me at the moment, and the other is in a drawer to my left.

Easier than juggling multiple tabs and pages when one is engaged with research.

(I will say that, when I was given both them, I came home and did a quick comparison against the copy on file to make sure they were not giving out propaganda masquerading as 'The Constitution'. Fortunately, they are both accurate copies.)
