most of the Winter STORM Watches have changed to WARNINGS!!....



Here we go!... Major snow, ice, and extreme cold. Winter Storm Warning and Extreme Cold Warnings are now being issued. Be prepared for it all, even if that mean hunkering down for the whole weekend.

I'm dreading Monday morning commute already. Temps will stay freezing and below after the Sat precip, so I think Sun & Mon will be "nope... not leaving the house" days for us.

Lexington is under a Winter Storm Warning beginning 1 AM Saturday, Jan. 24, to 7 AM EST Monday, Jan. 26. Total snow accumulations of 10-14 inches are forecast. Travel will become very difficult. Prepare by restocking emergency kits with food, water, medications, & warm blankets.

I wouldn't get in a mile of the little Kroger I shop at on Alexandria Drive today or tomorrow! It will be nuts! it has been a few years since we have had a snow like that in Lexington hasn't it?

Our snowpack is way below normal. The mountain snowpack is our most important reservoir. Could be a horrible fire season, starting earlier and more intense.

Then wind chills below zero all the way down to Corpus Christi.
