Everyone who voted for this dangerous buffoon should be deeply ashamed.

Rooting it out? It would take an epiphany in their minds and souls.
Until then, stop having them over for dinner at least.

(45 posts)Research has shown that 1/3 of every population is predisposed to authoritarian rule. But why America's predisposed chose this vile scumbag to rule over them is another matter.

(75,996 posts)There are 25% who are true believers for whom nothing he does can ve wrong or bad.
Another 5% will approve of anything that results in lower taxes.
The one thing I find encouraging about this poll is the approve + disapprove = 98%.
It's not one of these polls that has 10% of people who "aren't sure".
I believe the "unsure" crowd is an unreliable voting bloc so they need to be ignored anyway.

(6,246 posts)He just seems to be losing people. But the question is what percentage of support does a dictator need? And so far Republicans, especially those in the Senate, are not feeling any pressure yet to truly push back on him. So I'm guessing their internal state pulling at least has them in a decent spot.

(776 posts)...approve of what he's doing. He's basically their spokesperson; their whisperer; their spirit animal.
And it's not that surprising: even serial killers probably poll approval in the 20 percent range.
The other 5 - 15 percent--depending on the poll--probably either support just some of what he is doing--going after DEI and LGBTQ+ issues, etc.--or they really have no clue what he's doing at all.
We live in a giant bell curve.... Politically he would never even exist without it.

(653 posts)Trump will probably never dip below 20-25% due to that segment of the population who have an authoritarian mindset and want to see him hurt the people they hate. The other 5-10% who support him do so because they don't want to admit they made a mistake in voting for him.
