Where are the undocumented immigrants?

Mike Lawler (R-NY) is on Katie Tur right now spewing nonsense. He repeated the lie that 10 million undocumented immigrants came over the border under Biden. Republicans have represented that anywhere from 30 to 50 million undocumented immigrants living in the United States.

Where are they? If there were this many undocumented immigrants in the U.S. they would be everywhere and it would be easy to find them. ICE is resorting to harassing citizens and non-white people because they can’t find immigrants to deport. At what point do we just acknowledge that the assertion that there were tens of millions of immigrants in the United States were just false?

until then, we're stuck with a blaring and frequent and loud echoing of right-wing propaganda and occasional, tepid reporting of bits of truth that are branded as radical left opinions and swiftly dismissed and papered over.

I believe a law was passed in 1986 which granted amnesty to 3 million undocumented immigrants. I apologize for not knowing how to link articles, however, NPR (All Things Considered) posted an article on July 4, 2010 regarding this law. I remember this event and the Republicans' argument was that these people had put down roots, contributed to their communities and the economy and should be given a path to legalization. The counterargument at that time was that it would serve to encourage an influx of immigrants hoping to be granted amnesty at some future time.
