A President can take control of any state's National Guard by signing a paper. What then? After that the governor has no authority.

But that can be federalized anyways. I’m sure Walz, Ellison and his administration have gone through their options.

The reality is, there are few guardrails to constrain Trump. It’s sure not his cabinet, congress, or even the Supreme Court. Hell, even democrats were not 100% opposed to additional DHS funding. It’s pathetic.

He's hesitant about bringing in the Guard, because control of it can be taken away with one order from the President.
