Sen. Fetterman: "ICE agents are just doing their job, and I fully support that... People in my party might... treat them as criminals... That's inappropriate and outrageous."

We had a good choice in Conner Lamb but we followed bad advice. Lesson learned: Do your own vetting.

Still, now I'm wondering if he was an "infiltrator" all along.

I don't believe a stroke can cause a philosophical change of 180 degrees. What a stroke CAN do is kill parts of the brain that were required to maintain a false persona. What we are seeing now is probably the real Fetterman. And I'll admit he had me fooled.

It is such a shame that, no matter what we do, we seem to have a few people like Manchin, Sinema, Cuellar, Menendez in the party.

A stroke disables physical parts of the brain. In the same way that a dream can be 'wired' to feel as though you've had it before, brain injury can change the person there.

I don't think this is the person Fetterman is, personally. I think circuits in his brain have rewired through structures involved in processing authority and emotion.

There is scholarship that liberals have higher activity in their frontal lobes and conservatives have higher activity in their amygdala (the ancient structure responsible for rage, fear, terror, and passion)

What is their job. Their job is to deport undocumented people who are committing serious crimes here.

First, let us understand that most of the people they are going after haven't been convicted of ANY crimes, and are only suspected of overstaying a visa, which is a $250 misdemeanor for a first offense. So can somebody 'splain why they need to be carrying assault rifles and wearing tactical gear to do that job? Surely picking people up on a $250 misdemeanor is not nearly as risky as what the average real cop faces every day of the week. And real cops don't dress like goos and wear all this military gear unless they are called into a specific SWAT situation.

Why are they dispensing teargas so frequently? Why would they ever need to shoot rubber bullets or flash-bangs in the process of doing their misdemeanor arrests?

Have there been any cases since ICE invaded Los Angeles where a person named in a judicial warrant fired on ICE agents? I have not heard of any such cases.

Sun Jan 25, 2026, 06:55 AM

He said in a social media post last week that Democrats have to avoid “destructive tendencies” like the “extreme” idea of eliminating ICE.

Some members of the party are divided on abolishing ICE, which has encountered protests over an agent killing a Minnesota woman on Jan. 7, and restricting the agency’s activities. Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, for example, opposes eliminating the agency, an action some of his constituents support.

“Even Mayor Frey of Minneapolis doesn’t support abolishing ICE. The party must resist the destructive tendencies to push extreme positions,” Fetterman wrote on X. “Secure the border. Deport all the criminals. Stop targeting the hardworking migrants in our nation.”

Rep. Shri Thanedar, D-Mich., introduced legislation last week to eliminate the agency. He said ICE has always prioritized aggressive enforcement over due process.
