I'm hoping two things come from my new Governor now that the winter storm is over -

A Notice of Change (60 days required) to change the NJ State Constitution to allow for re-districting in NJ.

A communication that she will be working with other Blue State Trifectas to create a Union of States to build public health, trade, international connections as a shadow govt.

11. The time has come to do that.

For over 170 years the U.S. has put up with "the South" bitching and moaning. They spread their toxicity to the Midwest. (Full disclosure, I was raised in red Ohio and have lived in the south for almost 50 years).

Time for decent people to band together and form a progressive nation within the U.S. Maybe everybody will see that science, technology, history, literature, and the arts are actually good for the economy.

We have a trifecta. We make it illegal for employers to collect payroll income taxes for the Fed. SS and Medicare - continue. This will all end someday. But they really don't need our tax dollars. They aren't providing any services with them - just lining Donold's and JD's pockets.

I don't think they'll see it that way. They'll want our taxes while withholding benefits. I wonder if SS and Medicare would be safe with this Union in place.
I do like the idea of states working together to do what the Feds are no longer doing. I just don't think it's simple.

Still gets the least back for what we pay in. Granted they lifted the SALT Cap up to 40K . . .

But on principle alone? No one should have to pay property taxes twice.

For five years I paid property taxes for my excellent public schools, FD, PD, Public works .. .

Then I paid again so a couple in say - Mississippi making twice what we make don't have to fund their public schools. They beat the system - and get to send their kids to White Segregated 'Christian Schools'.

It's a total rip off.
