Michigan police group apologizes for 'woke scum' post about Minneapolis

Lansing — The Police Officers Association of Michigan issued an apology Tuesday for a Facebook post that referenced sticking "it to the woke scum" and giving "the ultimate middle finger" to the "open border mob."

On Sunday, the controversial post first appeared on the page of the association, which represents thousands of Michigan police officers. It focused on claims that conservative musician Ted Nugent was going to purchase food for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in Minnesota.

The post, which was later deleted, said some restaurants in the state were refusing to serve people who work for ICE, amid a crackdown by President Donald Trump's administration.

"He's personally bankrolling enough ribs, brisket, pulled pork and sausage to feed an army of real American warriors doing the dirty work the left hates," the association's post said of Nugent. "This is the ultimate middle finger to the anti-ICE, open border mob that would rather coddle criminals than back the men and women protecting our country."

7. The thing that gets me....

is that these goobers seem to inevitably be 2, 3, or at best 4 gen Americans. Sometimes 1st gen. It's bizarre. By my standards, their people just got here.

My wife and I are genetic anomalies as far as Americans go, shaped by our age and where we grew up. The pre "Sun Belt" mid-south and Appalachia. A place virtually untouched by the mass migrations of the 19th and 20th centuries. From the Irish diaspora to Ellis Island, immigrants just didn't settle in those regions for obvious reasons. There wasn't a hell of a lot opportunity for them before or after the Civil War. Because of that quirk in migration, every branch of our family trees stretch back pre-Revolution. My mom, sisters, my wife, her sisters, they could pick and chose which ancestor makes them DAR eligible.

So if we say, huddled masses, come on in! Make a better life for yourselves and your children's children, just as my ancestors did so very long ago, who the hell are late comers to say get out? Leave that damn ladder down, thank you very much.
