They wanted to beat the crap out of him. So many have said they were poorly trained, 6-8 guys and they couldn't restrain him.
Frank Figliuzzi thinks they were not trying to restrain him at all. They were trying to beat the shit out of him.

Like so many others, it didn't make sense to me that it was taking that many of them and they still could not restrain him. He wasn't a big guy.
I work in mental health, when I was in the hospital, we had to restrain patients for their safety. We have ongoing training that needs to be recertified every year. I am sure our training is nowhere near law enforcement training, our main focus is always patient safety, protecting their airway, but we were all trained to restrain in a team and how you communicate in a team. It makes sense now that I think about it, the point was not to restrain him.
There are certain moves that you do when you trying to restrain someone. None of that was being done. And Frank further mentioned, he was already pepper sprayed, so he would have been gasping for air, couldn't see well, it wouldn't have taken this much to restrain him, if that was the goal.

And then a good discussion of the ramifications of the agents acting out on the DHS permissions to be cruel and violent, and with what has become a perceived promise of a cover up - they won't be held accountable! Disastrous.

The point of many of them is that the person is not cooperative and it takes one cop to get them on the ground and in handcuffs. I call what these guys are doing - gang rape. They have to experience the person's submission to feel good.
