rot in hell, experiencing every minute of the pain and sufferiing and chaos and terror they have inflicted on all of us.
A very dear friend died Saturday night. We had been through so much together, were there for each other. Daily texts, frequent calls about the shit show we are experiencing. I had been very worried about her all last week, recurring pneumonia, rapid weight loss, etc. Our last texts were about her anger and fear at the horror show. .and then. . . silence. And then the news from her son. I am so fucking angry that her last days and minutes were poisoned by the insanity we are living, that she feared for her children and grandchildren. For this, as for so much else, I can never forgive them. My one small hope is that at least maybe she was not aware of the horrors on Saturday.
Requiescat in pace, dear friend.
May all involved receive everything they deserve.

(12,562 posts)wasting space. My best friend (male) died in 2013; I still have "I have to tell Darrel" moments. There are some people who are the only ones we can have certain conversations with. She certainly sounds amazing.

She may have left this mortal coil, but she walks with us as we carry in in the resistance.

Requiescat indeed.

But I believe they will get what they deserve - that when those human monsters cross over, they'll experience every bit of pain they caused others here, and be unable to avoid knowing just how evil their actions were. And I'm still hoping they'll get the prosecutions and punishments they deserve here, in this life.
Your friend has crossed over to peace and love, and to reunions with all her loved ones, human and animal, on the other side. Picture her young and healthy again. I believe that's her reality now (beliefs not based on any religion - I haven't followed any since leaving the Catholic Church in my teens - but on what I've learned of near death experiences and other experiences people have had, including a lot of people I met through grief support groups over the years). I hope she'll find some way of comforting you and reassuring you she's fine. And you know she'd want you to take care of yourself.

(1,265 posts)Unfortunately, any caring person can look around on the day of their dying (if they are able to do so) and be troubled with the injustice and inequity clearly visible in the world around them.
For sure, right now is worse than average but I think it is always so at some level.
Wouldn't it be wonderful to get to a time that it wasn't so? I think that describes the struggle.
Rest in peace, Niyad's friend. Know that we're still working on it.
