That was a text sent by Border Patrol agent Charles Exum after shooting Marimar Martinez in Chicago back in October, 2025. They then tried to prosecute Martinez though charges were dropped. No. It's like an earlier poster noted. The fewer holes with the most rounds released wins. If you can get a second bullet right on top of an earlier shot it's impressive. I know because I've done it once-- on a piece of paper, not a human being.

I am fully in favor of common sense gun control laws, but the mindless devotees of the Second amendment who parrot the line about "Guns don't kill people; people do" have at least one thing right. The psychology behind the person holding the gun is key.

This doesn't mean that I think that we should be handing out guns lightly. We also shouldn't be handing out civil authority lightly.

Some people shouldn't have guns anymore than a two-year-old should have a hammer. Two-year-olds have no emotional regulation. That's why you hand them a soft stuffed toy that they can either cuddle for comfort or throw to express their inchoate rage.

We need some form of psychological evaluation for anyone being handed a gun. We need excruciatingly thorough evaluations of people being handed both a badge and a gun.
