🚨 The Senate has agreed to a deal to vote on 5/6 full appropriations bills and replace the DHS funding measure with a 2-week stopgap bill, per multiple sources. That gives time to negotiate on the Dem demands for ICE and CBP restraints.

A Democratic aide says of the new deal: “Sets a 2 week clock on DHS funding by itself. If republicans don’t do shit for two weeks, DHS shuts down and there’s little incentive for us to reopen without the guardrails on ICE”

NEXT STEPS: The 5 bills plus DHS CR package needs to pass the Senate. It’s hoping to vote as early as tonight. Then it goes to the House for a vote before Trump signs. If the House doesn’t return quickly there could be a brief/weekend shutdown (with minimal practical impact).
