It seemed really last minute, hardly any posting about it, although the ones trying to organize it said they started hours after Pretti was murdered.

I didn’t realize this was going on until midday. And I try to stay well informed. That must have been one hell of a coupon, BTW.

It was about not going to work, school or buying any thing. I did not shop at all today but because I'm retired and don't go to school that's about all I could contribute. Tomorrow is the 2nd No Kings protest across the country. I heard about both of these efforts well enough in advance.

but I actually bought very little--- and got three times back in cash for bottle returns,
compared to what I actually bought--- so seems my visit was a 'net loss' for the store.

And especially people that are struggling to get what they need if that's what is most convenient .

We are a very consumerist society that even if we exclude the above examples and mostly focus on not. buying things we don't need it can be effective.

don’t need anything from the online stores.

And the frig is full.

I’m compliant, if only by lack of need. Hopefully I won’t run into advertisements about that new skin cream that guarantees the removal of all my wrinkles. Must stay on my ad-free DU site.

The reason was not just solidarity with the general strike. It was just too freaking cold to go out, with a high temperature of 16F with nasty winds. I bought a pizza the day before so it'll last me the entire weekend.
