Wow, someone is working big time to manipulate the audience ratings of "Melania". Critics give Melania a 12% review, "verified ticket holders" give Melania 99%. Sure, sure.
Almost 100% of the reviews from "verified ticket holders" are 5-star ratings. The # of those reviews is 100+ (versus over 200,000+ for very popular movies). The reviews are very similar in wording, much like Twitter bots tend to be.
I was wondering how those behind promoting Melania would try to rig the reviews.

(15,207 posts)That's why "conservative comedians" are very niche and typically don't make money on that part of their "art" unless they find a wealthy patron.
Here's the thing - Being Conservative or Liberal privately or even in public has little to do with an actor or comedian's success.
It's whether or not they're: a) talented and b) not an asshole about their politics or religion.
MAGA - and a lot of other radicals - can't help but not be assholes; they have to be faithful warriors blindly upholding their cause, not concerned about the cost to themselves or others.
On edit: all this being said, this movie strikes me of being more like a first grade class art project, it's not going to be good, but Mommy and Daddy can be proud of little Brett for at least following the instructions of the teacher, and, okay it does look like some trees and a big rock in the middle, so that could be a picture of Yosemite...
But even without watching the movie, I can't see how there would even be Ironic or Satirical comedy in it, because there could not be "conflict" that would result in either a semi-dramatuc epiphany or a comeuppance.
Even if this was supposed to be a "day in the life/behind the scenes" documentary, what is the final scene? She's already a wealthy trophy wife. Now she's a trophy first lady?

(29,411 posts)Are 99%..
The professional reviews are 8%.
However, nearly all the positive audience reviews have no other posting history.
Someone bought a shitload of tickets from Fandango to be able to post fake reviews

(29,411 posts)Some group bought a shitload of tickets from Fandango, this verified reviews and willing to bet most of those accounts only have one review posted and are new.
"Verified reviews on Rotten Tomatoes are audience ratings and reviews confirmed to be from people who purchased tickets through Fandango. This system, introduced in 2019 to combat "trolling" and fake reviews, ensures the user has actually seen the movie. It is distinct from the general unverified Audience Score (Popcornmeter) and is used to determine the "Verified Hot" badge for films with 90% or higher verified scores."

(29,411 posts)Nearly all of the 5 star reviews gave no other movie reviews posted.
The one star reviews have a posting history
"Rotten Tomatoes does not publicly display the specific account creation date for individual users or reviewers on their profiles. Reviewer profiles generally highlight their critic credentials, publication, and review history rather than account inception. Access to this data is restricted to internal site information and is not available for public view."

(2,069 posts)I was just trying to figure out how you can see if a reviewer has posted more than one review. Looks like you figured it out by looking at those who gave 1-star reviews as a comparison. Nice!

(9,446 posts)Who do you think is going to see this movie? It will be only the most fanatical of MAGAts.
And it's not all that hard to fake being a ticket holder on Rotten Tomatoes. Review bombers do it all the time.
Those two things will lead to a high "popcornmeter" for this propagande piece.
