Demond Wilson, Lamont on 'Sanford and Son,' Dies at 79

Demond Wilson, who starred alongside Redd Foxx and answered to “Hey, Dummy” for six seasons on the wildly popular 1970s NBC sitcom Sanford and Son, has died. He was 79.

Wilson died Friday of complications from cancer at his home in Palm Springs, his son Demond Wilson Jr. told TMZ.

Fred and Lamont were believable as father and son. Can't show some of the episodes these days.

He's looking for coins in front of the fountain at Ceasars. He sees Steve Lawrence and Edie Gourmet and tells them "I'm in antiques." They tell him he looks great in them.

S&S, one of the greatest shows ever. Hardly a bad episode, especially with all the side talent. RIP to Demond and them all.

That was the funniest show, my daddy seemed to think Redd Fox was the craziest comedian ever. I used to tell him, wait until you see Flip Wilson do Geraldine!

Man, all the things from my childhood and youth are going away. I am getting so freaking old! All the actors, singers, comedians, the TV shows, the movies... Young people have no idea who most of them were, it's like we're from different planets now.

and I know what you mean about losing people from our youth.....all the Mary Tyler Moore show folk are gone now.....
