Trigger warning, there is a image here that though illustrated is extremely upsetting

A club of Student Republicans have put out a very well-made, graphic image of Alex Pretti being murdered in a call to kill. I think this group should have their charter revoked or whatever their process is. Could someone here please share how one would do that? I think we should help with this.

(12,582 posts)Writing to the Judicial Office (sometimes called Student Conduct), with copies or additional letters to the President, the Board of Directors, Faculty Senate, and the Provosts Office. If you can get the faculty on board, that is a powerful block within the system.
You could also copy the local news, campus newspaper, the governors office - most schools get state funding and come up for budget review yearly, so its worth making sure they know. Find out the department that runs the student campus organizations - usually Student Life (or a center under that) and make sure they know.
Thats hate speech and shouldnt be tolerated or funded by state monies.
If you just start with one dept, theyll string you along quietly until they think youre appeased and sweep it under the rug.
Good luck! If you can get neighbors or businesses to sign onto the complaint, all the better!

(2,010 posts)A letter writing and or phone campaign could have an impact. You'd need to gather contact information for a number of people in the administration (then they will discuss it at meetings at least.)
I've worked at several universities, including a large one that had 10+ schools, I think UI has 14. Generally the schools are autonomous, each with their own dean and assistant dean. Depending on the school they may handle their own admissions, for graduate or professional degrees.
Key people to contact:
President of University
Provost of University
Dean of students
Director of admissions
Dean of each school
Assistant Dean of each school
Director of financial aid
College paper
Alumni association
About alumni, I did a search of notable alumni, and while a number of them are deceased there are many on this list who might add their voices and have influence. I googled and copied a few names below, but you can do your own search. Some might be worth writing to....
Good luck with this project!!
