ICE at Milan Olympics

Why is ICE at the Milan Olympics? Why did Italian officials even allow them in? Italy should have turned them all away at customs.

ICE has a very limited and specific authority around executing warrants for immigration only. They have no power to do crowd control or make traffic stops (absent a warrant for a specific car). They cannot stop random people. They have no role in providing security at home or abroad.

The goal is to give ICE unlimited powers to use at the administration's discretion. Sending them to Milan is a show of force.
