(8,441 posts)It will relieve most of the burning...not really recommended for the eyes, but I have used it that way. It stings quite a bit when applied to the eyes but goes away before long.

(114,650 posts)Full fat milk or (better) half & half can be used on the skin dabbed up the nose, and swished out in the mouth. Capsaicin binds to fats and is rendered more inert as an irritant, it's why Mexican restaurants that cater to suburban white folks serve a big blob of sour cream with their food.
Pepper spray is nasty stuff. It should be illegal to use both it and CS gas against civilian populations. Charges should be filed against anyone who uses it against people exercising their constitutional right to protest injustice, and that means thugs using bear spray because they're thugs.

(30,717 posts)The oil in the spray can damage the outer surface of the eye, and milk can contain bacteria, leading to infection.
Best solution I've seen is baby shampoo mixed with water.
