A Warning from The Shallow State - Trump is not like Nixon...

Posted today...

We're heading into a very dangerous time - for America and for humanity. Not sure the world has been through anything quite like this before.

I say that because this is the decline of a malignant narcissist who has not only reached the pinnacle of power, but he's now reached it for the second time and was narcissistically battered after the first time.

His criminality and corruption were always boundless, but now, his craving for vengeance is at a height too, and his narcissistic need is to target not just his enemies or adversaries, but the universe.

He has committed unspeakable crimes, and some are in danger of exposure. He knows how bad the things he has done, are. He won't withstand their exposure. He's likely compromised. So - he feels he has to ensure that the news cycle keeps moving swiftly, and he feels allegiances to people that can all or partly take him down - and these are bad people.

Meantime, his craving for grandiosity might be unmatched in the annals of human history. He has endless funds at his disposal. He has a complicit support team. Our media too often normalizes him and amplifies every falsehood, sometimes without qualifying them as false. And his Party's legislative body keeps abdicating power or kicking the can.

BUT MOST OF ALL - he's old, ill, unstable, and feeling his mortality. He knows he might not have that much time left. And he keeps getting humiliated. As these humiliations mount, they hammer his grandiosity, and while that hurts his polling, it also adds to his rage, malice, and pathological obsessions. Malignant narcissists never want to go down alone.

I'm no fan of Richard Nixon. I've seen and heard learned pundits and historians make comparisons lately, but they are faulty, because there is a distinguishment between narcissism and malignant narcissism. Nixon had narcissistic personality disorder and as things worsened, his paranoia heightened - borne of fear. But Nixon wasn't as grandiose; his obsessions were America-centric. Trump is more paranoid, he's sadistic, and he's global. His malice and potential for harm should not ever be underestimated.

Trump therefore should not ever be compared to Nixon. He should be compared to others of his precise pathology - Mussolini comes to mind.

The best thing that could happen, is the continued realization by the GOP that Trump is, for them, a sinking ship. Problem with that, is - it's the only ship the GOP has at sea, and it's carrying toxic sewage.
