My sister called

She is not politically active. She got right to the point. IF I should learn about ANY protest about the US Government trying to take over elections, plan on bringing her along with me. She was pissed off enough to finally get involved.

Who votes but is not politically involved, she is my sweet, friendly, sewing, crafts, friend who loves everyone and use to be big in Girl Scouts as an adult worked for them. And very involved in her church.

She is writing me to tell me how upset with Trump she is. She doesn’t talk like that, I do but she doesn’t bring him up in our emails.

I think many are waking up.

As with most people who worship him, they are really pissed now that his tariffs are impacting THEM. He was supposed to go after the people they hate, academics like us, black and brown people and non Christians. They only care if it impacts THEM!

"if you really want to hurt someone go after their pocketbook, they will never forget you"

Exactly what tariffman did, hit them in their pocketbooks and turned a huge voting block against himself.

... I'm pretty sure the MAGAs weren't listening. If they did hear him talk about tariffs, they had no understanding what it all meant. This was especially true in the red states.

Chump didn't campaign much in 2024 and it really died down after that incident in Butler, PA. (I'm not going to call it an attempted assassination because I don't believe it was.) The fact that he did so few campaign rallies looks like he knew that he was going to win and Elon Musk had already fixed the election for him.

The midwestern farm states weren't told how the tariffs were going to screw up the economy. And how it impacts all of THEM too. Would they have voted for him anyway? Probably.

In Minnesota we have precinct caucuses, which are usually not very well-attended and often criticized for being the tool of party insiders that end up excluding ordinary citizens. Not this time. I went to mine for the first time in many years and it was absolutely packed with enthusiastic and very pissed-off people, many young people and first-time participants, not the usual old party hacks. AG Keith Ellison arrived to a standing ovation. I'm surprised they weren't handing out torches and pitchforks.

A few republican seem to be waking up from their self induced, fever dreams of total domination, to realize they have awoken the sleeping giant of the American people. And that giant is not happy with what it sees happening to our country.
The people of Minnesota are showing the rest of us what it means to be an American patriot. We owe it to our country and our fellow Americans to follow their example.

The guy who lives and runs a business there had dozens of huge pro-Trump-Vance, "Let's Go Brandon," and other rightwing signs posted all along his fence line. A lot of the stuff dated back to the 2016 campaign. During the 2024 election he even parked a trailer with a large Trump campaign sign along the road in front of his house.

Most people in the area have taken down their Trump paraphernalia over the past year, but this guy was obviously still a diehard MAGA Trumper. Last week I drove past his property and all the Trump signs are gone. Nothing. His business is still there (some kind of welding operation), but the political crap has disappeared.

1. When they cut the subsidies for the ACA - and people were hit with huge premiums.

2. When they cut Medicaid by one billion dollars and the subsequent impact to rural hospitals.

3. I would include the tariffs and it's impact on farms - but the farmers voted for that so they got what they asked for.

4. DODG cuts to the Federal government workers - which I bet surprised a lot of Trump supporting federal workers.

5. The cuts to federal programs that help the poor and middle class.

6. I would say Trump stealing everything that he can - but that was to be expected after the Roberts Court gave him total immunity.

7. Cuts to education and attacks on science - I guess he wants the rest of the country to be like the Red States.

8. His support of Putin's agenda - it is hard to hide.

9. Those with eyes open knew he was a sexual predator - but maybe raping babies was a bridge too far, for some of them.

who still considers herself a conservative, is getting there. Tell your sister the next mass protest is 28Mar2026. For the first time, my friend told me she'll put it on her calendar. Still not certain she'll go, but I think she will.
