(8,251 posts)For instance, say a Tribe in Northern Wisconsin migrated there from Northern Michigan, fought and kicked out the Sioux nation ( who moved west). It is thought that said Tribe actually came from somewhere else to Michigan as well after similar circumstances.
Natives would migrate seasonally as well from winter to summer camps
Is it no different than European settlers who fled war famine etc?

(12,339 posts)Nearly every treaty made by the United States and varying Indigenous peoples was broken by the US government. Land and resources stolen. Indigenous children were tortured in "Indian" schools, beaten so they'd stop speaking their languages.
European colonists- the Spanish less so, despite the Black Legend- routinely murdered elderly men and defenceless women and children. Oh and then took their land.
So I'm not sure what the fuck you think. But I'm going to take a guess that you already know all this.
