IN-07: Andre Carson gets another primary election challenger as Destiny Wells enters race
At the last minute, Democrat Destiny Wells is throwing her hat in the ring to run to challenge Rep. André Carson for U.S. Congress in the May primary election.
Wells, a U.S. Army reserve lieutenant colonel, previously unsuccessfully ran for Indiana secretary of state in 2022 and Indiana attorney general in 2024.
She later narrowly lost a race to become Indiana Democratic Party chair, and has been increasingly critical of establishment Democrats.
Wells confirmed she was running to IndyStar but said she wouldn't comment on her decision until next week.
