6. I Figured It Out A Couple Of Days Ago - I Just Don't Know Why....

the Police haven't figured it out yet. This whole thing is going on too long. The longer this lingers the more desperate the kidnappers will get. That's when things can go very wrong.

I meant something the kidnapper(s) had not thought out thoroughly prior to commission .. ?
This is one of the key elements of any such plot ....

The only way for this not to have been planned out - is if the kidnapping happened spur of the moment. And frankly - that would make for a very unusual, almost hard to imagine, set of circumstance and motivation.

What I suspect is much more likely ... Is that these 'ransom demands' - at this point represent just plain old opportunism .. and very likely not even by the same person(s) involved in the original crime. Hope I can be proven wrong ... But, if this IS in fact a kidnapping ... It is now a thoroughly 'botched' job.

7. I think there is a chance whoever did it got scared

they might have thought they could remain low key and get what they want but never thought of the attention it would get and all the people and groups involved in it.

The only problem with the above scenario is it assumes they were that stupid to not expect or think it would get so much attention. But if they were as stupid they would not have been able to avoid being discovered yet.

8. That's probably why kidnappers holding victims for ransom always tell the families not to call the police.

At least that's how it's done in the movies.

14. The ransom is going to be paid in bitcoin

which makes it harder to trace. Undoubtedly, the ransom will be be bounced in cyberspace through dozens of sites and possibly be dispersed into many cyber-banking accounts.

As for how they make the exchange, once the kidnappers verify the ransom has been paid all they have to do is release her somewhere semi-isolated and notify the family/police a couple of hours later.

17. A Lot Of Technology Out There ....

Cameras everywhere. Almost all intersections;GPS; tire tracking iD's;facial recognition, telephone tracking; etc

If they took her somewhere isolated - they'd be responsible for her well being _ have to make sure she had access to water/food in the interim. Protection from wild animals & the elements, etc
Finger prints, DNA, etc

16. I'm worried she's no longer alive.

She had heart problems, and this kind of stress-- even if they didn't hurt her physically, the fear and danger might be too much. They don't seem to be willing to provide that "proof of life".

But I'm praying for her safe return. (I'm an agnostic, and don't believe in prayer to a higher authority, but it's the only term I know for the combination of hope and support and empathy I feel in such situations.)
