Trump threatens to block opening of new bridge between Windsor and Detroit

U.S. President Donald Trump says Canada and the U.S. will “immediately” start negotiations over the Gordie Howe International Bridge, which connects Windsor, Ont., and Detroit, Mich., and that he will “not allow this bridge to open until the United States is fully compensated for everything we have given them.”

“What does the United States of America get — Absolutely NOTHING! Ontario won’t even put U.S. spirits, beverages, and other alcoholic products, on their shelves,” Trump said in a social media post Monday.

billion per year and there is billions in paychecks on both sides of the river that
is dependent on the economic linkage
between both sides. Industries on both
sides including the auto industries are
based on working as one.

I just saw the unfinished bridge in April of
2025 it is designed to hook into our freeway system.

(York was the capital of 'Upper Canada', i.e. sourthern Ontario Canada during that war.
An American raid burned their parliamentary and sundry other government buildings.)

When Trump mentioned "everything we've done for them",
that was the first example which came to my mind!
