NJ-02: Former Atlantic Dem chairman endorses Winder
ormer USAID official Bayly Winder has earned the backing of former Atlantic County Democratic Chair James Schroeder, another important local endorsement as Winder works to win the Democratic nomination in New Jerseys 2nd congressional district.
Schroeder a former county freeholder, Port Republic councilman, and director of government relations for the New Jersey Education Association led the county party from 2012 until 2016.
Bayly Winder is the kind of leader South Jersey needs in this moment, Schroeder said in a statement. He gets what working families in Atlantic County are up against and has the experience and integrity to deliver results. Im proud to stand with him in his campaign for Congress.
Schroeders successor as Democratic chairman, Michael Suleiman, is backing one of Winders opponents, civil rights attorney Tim Alexander. Atlantic County Democrats will meet on March 8 to award their endorsement in the race to unseat Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-Dennis).
