If I controlled a television network,

I would imitate the 24 hour repetition of Jean Shepherd’s A Christmas Story shown on TBS annually and show the Twilight Zone episodes “I Am The Night - Color Me Black” and “The Monsters Are Due On Maple Street” for 24 hours continuously.

If you are not familiar with one or both of these episodes I direct you to Wikipedia for plot summaries, or better, to your cable outlet from which you can stream the episodes.

Alas! Humanity’s flaws persist to this very day. We are in no Age of Enlightenment, that’s for certain. In my opinion, these two teleplays are among the finest statements to that effect.

Serling was a great writer.
