It used to be a Pep Boys warehouse, and I was surprised to see it was owned by Carl Icahn.
I didn't think he was the kind of person to sell a building to ICE, but then what do I know.
It's all about money and profit for these guys.
Well, as expected, we're fighting the use of this space by ICE as a facility to hold enemies of the state.
I say that because it's evident these as going to be used as concentration camps. Prior to WW2, Hitler used the Jews as scapegoats for his plan to exert total control over Germany. Their concentration camps held a lot more than just Jews, but that was the cover story they used to gain absolute power and control. Once they did, anyone who opposed them was sent to one of these camps.
Millions died there.
This is exactly what the republicans under Trump have in store for us. Why else would they be planning to expand their prisons to hold hundreds of thousands, and eventually millions of people?
We are at a point of no return for the US. We either stand and deliver for Democracy now, or lose it all to the fascists who would destroy 250 years of Constitutional Democratic Republic to achieve their goals.

(1,319 posts)Trying to buy a warehouse. Built to hold boxes of inanimate stuff not humans. Violates zoning not to mention common sense. Tremendous cost to retrofit for human occupancy plus I believe they grossly overpay for these real estate transactions because the owners are Republicans and eager to slop at the public trough.
Then again, maybe they wont bother to make them fit for human occupancy - they just want to warehouse people. Cruelty is the point.
