*I did a search and nothing came up about this article but I may have missed it.
A newly uncovered FBI interview has raised new questions about US President Donald Trump's assertion he knew nothing about convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein's crimes.
Mr Trump's commerce secretary, Howard Lutnick, faced a barrage of questions from members of Congress on Tuesday, local time, about his own ties to the financier.
The day's developments underscored how the fallout from the Epstein scandal remained a major political headache for the Trump administration.

The police chief, Michael Reiter, cited Mr Trump as having told him: "Thank goodness you're stopping him, everyone has known he's been doing this."

(3,273 posts)Insofar as how you'd view that news will depend on whether you already like or dislike Trump. It shouldn't, but that's the reality.
Tangentially, I remain suspicious that the infamous Birthday Card was a blackmail threat. Epstein either knew for sure, or strongly suspected, Trump was illegally laundering Russian money through his FL properties (an area in which they were both competing to buy). Trump knew Epstein was, you know, Epstein-ing. I think they'd gotten into an argument about it recently, hence the "last time I saw you" reference.
The drawing, plus the text inside of it is a cryptic message Epstein would've understood as "Don't forget what I told you last time I saw you: You keep my secrets and I'll keep yours, Pal." And what they have in common are very privileged lives, and being a couple of fucking criminals.
I know it's not as exciting as believing this was them being lecherous together, but if Trump is good at anything, it's crime-ing. If he was banging Epstein's victims, I don't think he puts this text inside the drawing he did, incriminating himself. I think this is Trump being a mob boss.
Why do I mention this? Because even proving outright that Trump knew and said nothing is one thing, but it won't hurt him. If it could be proven not only did he know, but he also tried to blackmail Epstein to keep him quiet over his own illegal money laundering for (perhaps) sanctioned Russian oligarchs in EXCHANGE for keeping it quiet? That's a whole different ballgame.

With Jeffrey's 50th coming up, then GF Ghislaine organised the party. She already knew trump of course and would have know what he was like. Trump didn't make, create, write or originate that card I'll bet. That has the stamp of Maxwell all over it - design, text, language. Epstein's writing is like a high schooler's.
Knowing what a busy big property tycoon trump was, I'd say maxwell probably organised the card, brought it to trump and shoved it under his nose to sign - for Jeffrey's birthday, of course. I doubt trump even read it or looked at it for longer than it took to sign. Voila - a card hinting at their pastimes with trumps signature on it.
Whether for future blackmail or just to make her BFs birthday extra special - I don't know.

(3,273 posts)Trump has been known to make somewhat similar line drawings though, that's why I gravitated towards thinking he at least did that part. As for what's written, I was imagining he dictated the general thoughts he wanted to convey to someone somewhat creative, who actually wrote the text therein.
We don't actually know Trump was at said party, but that doesn't mean she didn't get it to him prewritten and he signed and returned it.
Your theory is a pretty good one, esp. now that I've looked into how she orchestrated Epstein's 40th b-day party. But it doesn't make sense to me why he wouldn't have just said "this is what happened" when the card came out, if this theory were true. Maybe he forgot, or just loves denying responsibility and lying so much he preferred that avenue.
Unfortunately though, it's also 100% non-incriminating for IQ47.
