It's one thing (still wrong but easier to be rid of) if the police showed up and talked to her, but once they arrest you, there's a lot more time and possibly money involved.

I suspect a jury wouldn't convict and possibly a grand jury might not indict, but South Carolina is a different jury pool than DC where they couldn't get the sandwich thrower or Mark Kelly.

Person with threats of violence. That's an entirely different matter. If it had just been her giving words of encouragement and offering support? I'd be furious over an arrest. This wasn't it.
