The last young man in his 30’s, a peacenik the last I saw him, just signed up for the Air Force. Said he was offered everything he asked for…….I guess the booming job market forced him to do what he has avoided for years. Both of his parents, his brother and uncle all make a nice fat living off of this! Big jobs at GE, retirement and selling war every step of the way. I’ve supported these people but they always held themselves above me. I told them I’m the one calling Congress members about their benefits, making sure they know that you deserve a mission that is well planned and worth your one life. I’m the one packing the supplies you needed in Iraq. I was the one standing on the Mall with 500,000 other Americans begging that they not push a surge in Iraq. And yet…here we are. People sign up to serve with the understanding that we promise to take care of their health and not abuse their gift of service. The already fragile VA system is being harvested and raided as if a hedge fund bought it for parts, or a bonfire maybe.

Hello poor person. Because you are inferior, you are willing to risk your life daily for very little pay. Suckers and losers like you will now serve my personal interests as part of the most powerful military in the history of the world, at my disposal to profit myself my friends and my family however I wish whenever I feel like it, with absolute disregard for the safety and security of United States of America and her people. Please know that I will very gladly sacrifice the life of you and everyone you know without a thought if it profited me by one single dollar. It is literally perverse to so abuse and capture the gift of their service. Not unlike switching sides in the middle of a fucking war, which he also did for Putin.
