I haven't seen a picture of him in ages without a baseball cap so I'm wondering if he's losing the rest of his hair?

3. I have spotted weaves tied in above the hair part before.

They cause the thin hair to buckle instead of lying smooth. He is too vain for a toupee like his father wore and thinks he has pulled a fast one when he gets someone to tug at his hair to see if it's real. Weaves and extensions take time. My guess is that he hasn't touched up his hair--he's out of it most of the time.
Also his real hair continues to thin.

7. My dad started losing his hair in the early seventies

Around the time my parents married and had me. He tried various wigs and toupees. I was told by my mom that he once tried to flush a topee down the the toilet in a rage This continued into middle age. I didn't want to hurt his feelings so I stiffeled my laughter when he wore a wig. Approaching 50 he finally accepted reality and did a away with all that stuff. I was relieved 😌.

My dad has since passed away. When he was alive he was a Libertarian who despised trump. He would be angry that he got a second term.

10. It's looked like that for a long time....

I notice stuff like this since I used to illustrate (usually people). You can see his scalp through his fluffed up and brushed over remaining few hairs. It has a lot more white than yellow at this point so it is easier to see his pink scalp underneath it now.
