Good luck with that, John....
Actually, he could now probably get more votes in the Republican-Israeli primaries than in the Democratic primaries, among those who have been paying any attention....

BTW: Not directed toward the poster. It's just an expression.
I don't vote for Republicans or Republican-lights and I don't think think there are enough Democrats to support him. But what do I know? I didn't think DJT would beat Hillary Clinton or Kamala Harris.

(2,020 posts)He would never get the Democratic nomination, which is fortunate because I could not possibly vote for someone who is a republican in every sense of the word except what it says next to his name.

(28,706 posts)He can't win... and it means that he isn't running for reelection in PA.
Getting out of the PA primary dramatically improves our chances of holding (or taking - depending on your perspective) that seat.

(29,087 posts)to divide the Democratic Party is destructive. Once one gets the coveted label and endorsement, anything's okay (Nazi tattoo, Tulsi Gabbard) as if they're not a candidate for political office but a some kind of moral activist-saint who is always right. It's a job, not a religion!
mcar
(46,068 posts)*as do most other politicos but it was apparently OK for them.
She was vilified for that, with so-called "progressives" harassing her.
But a guy who held a Black man at gunpoint for...reasons but said some good words = Progressive hero (that's Fetterman, btw),
and a guy who has a Nazi tattoo, is a rape apologist, etc., but said some good words = Progressive hero.
What's the common denominator here?

(29,087 posts)No matter how many times it was explained that so-and-so is still an elected official and it's illegal to be paid for speeches and Hillary was not (and that as former First Lady, senator, Secretary of State of course the speaking fee was as high as other politicians with such a resume; she also gave speeches to the Girl Scouts of America and companies and all sorts of organizations -- wasn't as if she was hustling money from students/those on limited incomes by frightening them about an imaginary evil corporate neoliberal status quo establishment boogeyman -- and Hillary donated quite a bit to the Clinton Foundation), there they were right back making the same accusation the next week.
Buzzwords. It's cheap advertising. Buyer beware.

(12,534 posts)Those that left complained that Fetterman was obsessed with running for president, that he was shirking his Senate responsibilities and instead dreaming and plotting an imaginary path to the Oval Office. Not sure how kissing up to Trump figures into that plan unless he's prepared to switch to the GOP.
Whatever. One thing is certain: he would never get a nod from the Democratic Party, not after demonstrating Joe Manchin fever. The man has burned his bridges.
What a frigging disappointment and lost opportunity.
