Susie Wiles sounds the alarm on gas prices

President Donald Trump’s chief of staff, Susie Wiles, is telling his advisers to bring ideas to the Oval Office to lower gasoline prices in the wake of the U.S. attack on Iran, according to two energy industry executives familiar with the conversations.

The White House is “looking under every rock for ideas on improving energy prices, especially gasoline prices,” said one of the executives, who was granted anonymity to describe internal administration discussions.

The attack and Iran’s subsequent targeting of the Persian Gulf’s energy sector has sent crude oil up more than $10 a barrel, lifting gasoline prices to their highest levels since Trump took office last year.

Energy Secretary Chris Wright and other advisers focused on energy policy, including a council led by Interior Secretary Doug Burgum, “are getting screamed at to find some good news” on bringing down prices, the same executive said. “Folks are scrambling for announcements and messaging to counter the narrative” of rising prices, this person said.

Look what Krasnov has done for his fossil fuel billionaire cronies; he has gutted regulations, eliminated fuel standards, taxed or gutted environmental friendly projects, gutted clean energy projects, given away our government land, waters, for them to drill, mine, and log on.

All Krasnov has to do is threaten those billionaires and they will keep diesel and gasoline prices lower than they would be under a Democratic president. I am not a believer in the invisible hand of the economy.

Wait until food and other essentials go up because of higher fuel prices. I am sure donnie would say the trucking companies will absorb it, just like companies absorbed the tariffs. Just wait and see how much higher eggs and coffee will climb. This past year will seem like fire sale prices when these new highs hit.

When gas prices went up in 2021-2022, the apocalyptic bitching about retail gas prices (and those stupid "I did that" Biden stickers that people were putting on every pump) were proof that that a lot of the general public doesn't give a damn about anything apart from their own lived experience. We had just had a violent near-coup on January 6th, 2021... but 'gas prices.'

But this current situation isn't one of them.

Stock markets around the world hate uncertainty and are bleeding red right now.

Gas prices here have risen from a steady AU $ 1.60 /L to around AU $2.00/L in 3 days.
No idea how that translates to US $/gallon, but it's a clear pattern.

Seeing Australia has, supposedly, 3 or 4 months of gas in reserve, it is just profiteering based on FUD and uncertainty of future supplies from Singapore refineries.
Australia has no crude oil in the ground nor does it have any refineries.
60% of the crude oil to Singapore comes from the Middle East.

Panic buying is happening at the moment.

Before signs go up that say 'No more than 5 gallons per customer' and 'Sorry, out of fuel'.
Or 30 cars line up at the one pump that still works.

Roll the file footage from last time, please!

COVID let to a rush on toilet paper (?!?), this time it is fuel.

(Cue smirking EV owners.)

I'm fine, thank you. Filled up 2 cars because it was cheap, not in panic.
2 months supply for me.
Then, when the fuel low warning lights come on, delivery at home for essentials, possibly.
