(25,003 posts)who warned this morning that ground troops are going to be sent to Iran after leaving a briefing will get the attention they deserve. Whatever Leavitt, Hegseth, and of course trump are spouting is not worth listening to. These guys know what they're talking about.

(17,521 posts)Wicker said the administration is not ruling out troops on the ground. Hawley said it was large, open-ended and evolving. Both were speaking after the same briefing that Murphy and Blumenthal were commenting on.

(10,641 posts)I've heard of diverticulitis, but not the flare.
Intelligent design, my ass. I'm sorry to hear you are suffering.

(2,838 posts)which is discovered in a routine colonoscopy. When the diverticula become infected, that is no joke. This can quickly advance to perforated colon, sepsis and worse. If one received a diverticulosis finding from a colonoscopy, I strongly suggest an intense program of it management because you really, really don't want it to develop into diverticulitis.

(4,621 posts)Been on clears for days. Doing a scrambled egg and toast trial.
Also I'm an RN who worked in the OR and ICU. I have seen the perfs and what
they can morph into. I have no temp or N/V- It's my 3rd flare in six years.
Probably r/t overwhelming grief since my husband passed plus the state of the world.
Funny thing is I had a scope about a month ago and the diverticula out-pouching was confirmed.
Was given an all clear for 5 years.
Feeling a bit better today. I truly appreciate your words of wisdom.

(2,838 posts)I had diverticula on 4 scopes over 10 years, but nobody really gave me any useful advice, other than eat more greens and fiber.
I have no doubt that your flare-up could be from stress, and it sounds like you have had more than your share recently.
In my case I ignored worsening symptoms for 3 weeks because I had no reason to associate any of that with my diverticulosis. I had some heavy jobs the week before I presented to the ER. 6 hours later, I had emergency surgery to remove about 1/3 of the colon, followed by 9 days in ICU to clear the sepsis. That was followed by months on an ostomy to rest the remaining colon. I eventually had successful take-down surgery and can live a mostly normal life now.
I just wish somebody would have advised me that difficult, straining and painful BMs are not normal and you can be kind to your guts by doing simple things like figuring out how much psyllium (Metamucil) daily will allow your system to do its thing without unnecessary strain. In my case, I am certain it was completely preventable had I been educated about it.
I will be thinking of you and wish you steady, gentle progress. FWIW, I logged every bite I ate and every BM event for 2 years before I felt like I was really healthy again. It is a lifestyle change, but can be very successful.

(3,578 posts)The minority leader is about holding the caucus together behind closed doors.
The party can use other people in the press.
It's the senate where the caucus seems aimless and so often not together...

Let's face it: this happened because he needed something that would give him an ego boost, with the added bonus of creating a distraction from Epstein and everything else he's in the doghouse for. Because the only thing that really matters to Schlump is the care and feeding of his greatly oversized but very fragile ego.
If that means killing a bunch of Iranian civilians and American service people, he's fine with that. He 's a psychopath, so causing people to die has no more significance to him.than setting fire to a stack of paper dolls.

Then they said the Iranians wont have the ability to lay mines in tne strait and have been proven wrong.
Maybe war gaming isnt their thing. 🤷♂️🤣
