https://meidasnews.com/news/trump-offers-donors-access-to-national-security-briefingsDonald Trump is promoting a National Security Briefing Membership to supporters who donate to him in a new fundraising email, promising what he calls private national security briefings and unfiltered updates on the threats facing America.
The message, sent March 12, urges recipients to claim your spot in an elite group that will receive the inside scoop directly from Donald Trump on foreign adversaries, border threats, and what he describes as deep state sabotage.
While campaigns frequently offer exclusive calls or briefings to donors, framing the perk as access to national security briefings tied to fundraising raises questions about monetizing information connected to national security. Cash donations in exchange for national security secrets is something that foreign governments could easily exploit.
The email also used a photo of Trump at Saturdays dignified transfer ceremony at Dover Air Force Base, where the remains of 6 fallen U.S. service members were returned to the United States. In the photo, Trump is seen wearing a his campaign hat as four service members carry a flag-draped transfer case past him.
Dignified transfers are traditionally solemn, non-political events, and using imagery from such a ceremony in a campaign fundraising appeal exploits a moment honoring military sacrifice for political promotion. It also raises the question if Trump got permission from the family of the fallen soldier before using it to raise campaign cash in exchange for natural security secrets.

(29,754 posts)There is NO possible way this could be legal. Its selling our national security secrets, for godsakes! I guess he thinks if he can keep Top Secret documents in his bathroom and get away with it, this will be a-okay as well. And you can't tell me his billionaire donors won't triple their money by turning right around and selling this info to their own highest bidders.
And to use our dead soldiers as a campaign stunt? This guy could slither under a snake's belly at the bottom of a swamp. How do we think those soldiers' families feel about this ploy?
I didn't think his actions could make me any more nauseous, but my keyboard is in serious trouble here. Will be emailing every Congress critter I can tomor.

(2,504 posts)IF this is true (and I have a hard time believing that it is), then this is a trial balloon to see if he can get away with it. Either that or its indicative of a rapid progression of his dementia. I cant imagine that Trump would have cleared this with anyone, with the possible exception of Hegseth - when he was drunk. I cant believe Im even writing this.
