Elizabeth Warren Endorses Graham Platner for U.S. Senate

"Graham Platner is going to flip Maine and then actually deliver change for working people in the Senate."

Boston, MA — Today, U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren today endorsed Graham Platner's campaign for U.S. Senate in Maine, where he is running to defeat Senator Susan Collins.

"Graham Platner is going to flip Maine and then actually deliver change for working people in the Senate," said Senator Warren. "He's a combat veteran, an oyster farmer, and has inspired people with his populist agenda for a government on the side of working families—not the billionaires and giant corporations. Graham will fight every single day to make life better for the people of Maine in the United States Senate. I'm proud to endorse him."

"It is an honor to be endorsed by Senator Elizabeth Warren," said Graham Platner. "Senator Warren has spent her career fighting those who use power and wealth to take advantage of working families. She's been an inspiration and I look forward to working by her side in the Senate to take on Wall Street, monopolies, and the corruption in Washington."

Warren’s endorsement of Platner certainly helps clarify things…

Donald Trump is "a toxic stew of hatred and insecurity."

If she thought Platner was built similarly, she'd say so.

I can't get past all of his questionable choices where he keeps ending up associating with people/things I'm not okay with.

And Bernie's endorsement did not sway me. But Warren I respect.

If he wins the primary I may be less bothered.

If a candidate had an SS tattoo 18 years ago at age 60, I'd be worried. A candidate regretting a tattoo at age 23 while in the Marines 18 years ago, not so worried. Mills does not excite anyone. Platner will beat Collins.

with all his misogynistic remarks, his rape apologia and the Nazi tattoo.

And, a 23 YO Marine is a grown ass adult who should be responsible for his own decisions. Let's not get into the habit of excusing white, male adults for bad behavior - that's what the Repukes do.

I really believe that the party has to do a better job vetting candidates. Platner’s explanation for his past behavior has been incredibly inadequate and the typical Bernie play of blaming corporate dems or the establishment is a cop out and ridiculous. We never made Fetterman answer for his problematic past because he was a “progressive” and now we are stuck

Sure, let's ignore all the red flags because Platner talks a good game.
