US Fighter Plane Hit by Iranian Fire

A U.S. F-35 fighter jet made an emergency landing at a U.S. air base in the Middle East after being struck by suspected Iranian fire, sources tell CNN.

Officials say this may mark the first time Iran has hit a U.S. aircraft since the war began.

CENTCOM spokesperson Capt. Tim Hawkins says the jet was “flying a combat mission over Iran” when the incident occurred. The aircraft landed safely and the pilot is in stable condition. An investigation is underway.
