Second best thing is if he resigns next year. He'll never get re-elected in PA. The Repukes don't want him and the Dem voters are completely disgusted. I voted for Fetterman and donated to his campaign, but never again!

I was actually at one of his rallies and was photographed with him afterward - and he used that photo on some of his campaign postings. I WAS REALLY PROUD OF IT!!!!

Now, I feel like one of those people who sent a 'private' photo that 'suddenly' appeared on the web - and you can't do a damned thing about it!

And yes, I feel betrayed, let down, and angry. This is NOT what he had 'promised.'

... he is pro-Netanyahu, not necessarily pro-Israel. That's like saying Americans are all pro-Trump. NOT true. There is a substantial percentage of Israelis that are most definitely NOT pro-Netanyahu. Let us not paint the entire country with that broad brush. Just as it is true here, it is true that not all Israelis support a self-serving a psychopath just trying to keep himself out of prison by starting a war.

I know many Israeli citizens who have taken to the streets against this horrible war. I’m sorry that they are broken-hearted as we are. There are so many good people around the world, from different religious beliefs! 💙

I never painted the entire country with a broad brush .

As you mentioned , many Israelis have taken to the streets to rid themselves of the war criminal and his corrupt regime.

I have long supported Israel’s right to exist. Netanyahu has made Israelis less safe. I want a solution for all nations.

We need to call out the unlawful murders, destruction, and land grabs that have led to so much suffering.

I don’t know why Trump and Netanyahu are on this death march, but it needs to end.

We already dont have a majority. All keeping him accomplishes at this point is allowing Trump to pretend he has bipartizan support. And tying up committee positions that could be held by a democrat.

If he wasn't on the Senate homeland security committee this last week, Markwayne would have failed to advance out of committee.

that TOO MANY Democrats might try to primary him---
which could allow him to squeak by with a minority of party primary voters....

Then again, maybe he won't even run for re-election...
or even try to walk for it, since I suppose he may be unable to 'run' at this point

He will be up for re-election in 2028.

meaning that Independents cannot vote in either partisan primary. Only Democrats can vote so there is no crossover voters.

This process bodes ill for Fetterman. His only chance is a multicandidate primary that splits the vote so that Fetterman can win with 30%.

... Repukes have been known to register as Democrats, just so they can mess up our primary races. Don't think it hasn't been done, because I've seen it happen. They'll never vote D in the general election, don't worry. But they will mess up our Party's primary candidates if they think they see an opportunity.

In the case of Fetterman, it wouldn't make a difference. He'll never get a primary win, and I'm hoping he resigns before we get that far. If Fetterman quits this year or next, then Shapiro can appoint his replacement who would then get a head start on the primary race that would be happening in 2028.

but people are very reluctant to change their party registrations to influence the other primary. Some may, but certainly not enough to make a difference.

Don't forget, the Repukes have a primary of their own and those voters are more likely to want to vote for a MAGA candidate in their own primary.

There will likely be more than one person running for the Republican nomination for president, senate, etc
I could be wrong, but I can't see someone changing their registration to effect the other party, when their vote likely has the same effect on their own -- and the outcome is more important to them personally

I think he was utterly shocked by what he found in Washington. We know it depressed him greatly -- he went to Walter Reed over it, after all, back when he was newly-fledged. I think the corruption and bullshit of DC must be much worse than Pennsylvania (where it is not amateur hour, either), and that he was so psychologically demoralized that it set him up for the stroke -- insofar as psychological matters can do that.

However, he is also fanatically pro-Israel to the point of unreason, and as the Gaza genocide is a matter of some importance to Democrats, having to expend intellectual and emotional energy defending that position must also be tiring for him. And he's never been big for self-justification to begin with.

There's also evidence that he is, at core, an Organization Man, and that he thus puts himself in the position of having to back DJT because of his position, and despite whatever John's personal feelings might be about DJT. This might also lead to some psychological fretting.

You squandered a golden opportunity to do good for your state and the country. Instead, you whined about the boring work at the Senate, claimed the votes you missed in the Chamber weren't worth your time, daydreamed about occupying the Oval Office (something that will NEVER happen), sidled up to Agent Orange and scolded other Dems accusing us all of Trump Derangement Syndrome while hanging out with the FOX News gang.

Yes, you're very popular over at FOX. They love a turncoat.

And now your approval numbers have cratered? What a surprise!

I'd suggest revamping your resume, John. Because in 2028? You're politically done.

Either we as voters or the party need to do a better job vetting candidates and people like Bernie need to stop giving legitimacy to candidates with huge red flags. John should’ve been out when his racial profiling a Black runner and holding him up with a gun was discovered. His explanation wasn’t one and Bernie hand waving it didn’t help. I feel like the stroke didn’t change his character but revealed it. If he had integrity he would’ve stepped down with all of his health problems but here we are.
