President Donald Trump's administration sparked outrage on Thursday after it unveiled a "creepy" and "illegal" design for a 24K gold coin to commemorate America's 250th birthday.

The Commission of Fine Arts approved a coin design featuring Trump hunched over, his fists on a desk. It also features a slender-looking characterization of Trump and 13 stars to represent the 13 original colonies. The commission’s vice chair, James McCrery, said the coin should be "as large as possible," CNN reported.

“I motion to approve this as presented, and with the strong encouragement that you make it as large as possible, all the way to three inches in diameter,” McCrery said.....

"This. Is. Literally. Illegal," Marine veteran Jay Mallow posted on X.

"No remote historical basis for this cultish usurpation and personalization of a national celebration unrelated to Voldemort. Absurd," author Dr. Oswald Sobrino posted on X.

That man has an ego that you couldn't stuff into a railroad car.

The fact it's illegal makes me smile.

the image of Trump is ludicrous. He's got his tiny hands pushing down and it looks like he's filling his pants. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Beyond the fact that the person depicted doesn’t even look like him (except for the schlumpy suit and baby soft hands) no one wants to celebrate an important milestone in our country’s history with the wannabe dictator’s scowling visage attempting to intimidate anyone who sees it. With the word ‘Liberty’ above him, no less. This hideous thing is a commemoration of Trump, not America.

Kevin Spacey. The character Francis Underwood would hit the desk with his ring.

He tries so hard to be intimidating and ominous. Who else depicted on coins made an effort to look so mean?
