Jeff Webbs death was confirmed in an Instagram post by Varsity Spirit, the largest cheer organization in the United States, which he founded. He was 76 years old.
Join us in honoring the life and legacy of Jeff Webb, founder of Varsity Spirit and modern cheerleading, the tribute read. His impact has built a community that will continue to inspire generations to come.
Bill Seely, the president of Varsity Spirit, confirmed in an email, obtained by Cheer Daily, that Webb had sustained a severe head injury after his fall.
Webb was also a conservative political activist and was considered a mentor to Charlie Kirk. Following Kirks assassination, Webb spoke multiple times about the impact of Turning Point USAs founder.

We may have lost a future president. Charlie Kirk had it allcharisma, faith, respect for everyone... Now, in his absence, tens of thousands of new chapters are rising. His legacy is just beginning, Webb told Real Americas Voice shortly after the shooting. Webb was present at the White House when Kirk was posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

(19,437 posts)or of Kirk's fellow TPUSA founder and other mentor dying of COVID early in the pandemic while TPUSA was actively anti-mask/safety measures.
Cheerleading guy dying of sports, that's like a 6 out of 10 irony. Spokesperson talking about "impact" of a guy who died from a fall might boost it to a 7, but I'm suspicious that might be self-aware/trolling.

(4,570 posts)and Charlie Kirk's mentor, quite a legacy. Mostly he'll be recalled as being the guy who brained himself playing pickleball!

Let's hope history remembers him for all of the accurate and truthfully reported reasons. As a hater of Democracy.

(2,737 posts)Not from any of his quotes that I read. Granted, I've only read a few. I had no idea who he was before he got shot and truth be told, I haven't bothered to find out anything more about him. Life's too short.
People just pull things out of their asses and the rubes believe it like it's gospel. Here's a hint for them: things are not necessarily true just because someone says they are.
