California ALWAYS has high gas prices. Among the highest in the nation.

It's too important an expense for too many households.

This has electoral implications, and not just about the Iran war.

Their price is tied to the Costco at the Gateway Center, just a couple of miles away. It's currently $5.19 there.

They import 70% of their oil plus list one major refinery to shutdown in December and I believe Valero shutting down in April. Oil is especially short and expensive from overseas.

HOWEVER, on Saturday I went to the Sprouts on Balboa/Genesee. When I left to go there, the traffic on the other side coming in was really backed up, so when I returned I decided to try a different route.

So I headed west on Balboa to Soledad Mountain Rd. Right before i got there, at the Mission Bay intersection, there is a "Stars and Stripes" station with regular at $5.19. And they weren't even that busy!
