I live here in deep red northern Indiana and saw my first primary ad for a candidate looking to replace one of the state senators that voted against redistricting. After he said that we are an existential threat to the country he added “I will fight them every day in every way”. Just so you know the next iteration of the GOP is going to be even more crazy than the current unfortunately.

It makes it easier to campaign against the Republicans, and you can force all the other Republicans in the area to take a position on that candidate's statement.

More dangerous are candidates like Gubernatorial candidate Erin Stewart in Connecticut, who pretends to be a reasonable moderate but is just as hardcore MAGA as the rest of them.
