MI-SEN: McMorrow touts volunteer push to reach 30K petition signatures in U.S. Senate race

Mallory McMorrow, Abdul El-Sayed and U.S. Rep. Haley Stevens (D-Birmingham) have each either announced that they have enough nomination petition signatures to make the ballot in the August primary or are at least on track to do so.

That means, barring any changes to the candidates’ plans or last-minute dropout announcements, the trio of Democrats will appear as choices before voters in the late summer election.

Michigan law states that any candidate seeking a party nomination in the August primary must collect between 15,000 to 30,000 valid signatures from registered voters in order to appear on the ballot.

The deadline to turn those signatures into the state for review is April 21.
