CHARLES COUNTY, Md. (7News) Dayton James Webber, who had previously captured the attention of ESPN's cameras for his inspirational story as a quadruple amputee-turned-champion cornhole player, is now having his picture taken by jailhouse cameras after being accused of murder.
According to investigators, Webber, 27, of La Plata, shot and killed Bradrick Michael Wells, 27, of Waldorf, in Charles County, Md., Sunday night, according to the sheriff's office.
Webber was arrested Monday morning in Charlottesville, Virginia. Webber is known as a professional cornhole player, sources confirm with 7News' Brad Bell.
Charles County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Diane Richardson said Webber was driving his vehicle when he shot and killed Wells, who was in the front seat. Two more passengers were in the back seat, and all four people in the car were friends, according to investigators.

(25,642 posts)I mean this Webber guy is kind of amazing. The quadruple amputee angle adds so much. First, he's a champion cornhole player. How does this happen? How does this guy even throw a beanbag accurately? Well, there's video, and I'm impressed. Then he's driving a car with 3 passengers. That's work in itself, plus 3 people trust him to drive them around -- maybe they were drunk, and clearly it wasn't their best decision (a lifetime worst decision for 1 of them), but this indicates a high degree of confidence. At some point, Webber does some combination of driving and murder. This kind of thing takes some effort and skill. There's also video of Webber shooting and it's impressive too, in its own way. Also, he completely disregards the presence of witnesses, asking them for help disposing of the body. They won't do it, so he just drops them off and goes away somewhere to dump the body himself. Then he's arrested and charged with Murder 1. If convicted, will he end up in a special prison for the disabled?
This is some freaky Breaking Bad level material. He's like the Helen Keller of redneck murderers. How does this happen?
