Men Who "Escaped The Manosphere"

Coventina's note: I'm going to select some comments I thought were especially good.

2. “I was 30 and my sister just run away from her abusive husband. She moved to a hostel for women who were abused with her son. I used to visit every weekend taking her, her new friends and their kids out so they can have some form of normality for a day. Listening to the stories of the other women was a big eye opener to what men were really like behind closed doors.”

3. “Women didn't make me this way. I made myself this way through anger and insecurity. When I became secure in my identity, I learned my anger was focused on the wrong people.”

6. “A degree in the arts and humanities. Taught me how to think critically & to never take any big truth claims at face value. Even those in the manosphere with a bit more intellectual nuance were exposed as charlatans when a bit of rigour was applied to their stances.”

13. “Having empathy. Realizing that women have it a lot harder in this world and are met with many more hurdles than men.”

(Not your headline, I know)

This victim mentality is false and yet another way to avoid accountability for actions

But I will say, there is some merit in being able to escape (maybe overcome is a better word?) the prison of your own mind.

There is a lot to unpack here. I kind of hate the term "manosphere", though.

Among other things. Caring and using your intellect has become way too “woke“

I never needed to, nor wanted to, take advantage of anyone, and never beat my wife except at Scrabble.

"Strong enough" ... a non-athlete, I made it through boot camp. (miracles do happen)

I'll say it again. Strong people lift others up. Weak people feel the "need" to cut others down.

And it's very obvious in the way people treat others.

Violence is never required.
