Trump Is In This Pickle

First and foremost because he is an IDIOT. He knows nothing about the world. I guarantee that my six grandchildren aged 1 to 15 collectively know more about the world than he does. But back to my point. Trump's in this pickle because he surrounds himself with yes people and people that only provide him with good news and flatter him with praise. Plus he has this thing about doing the opposite of what he should do. He really is a fucking lunatic.

All he needs to know about the world is where he can do a successful robbery.
Where is cash, land, oil, rare minerals?

That is all he needs to know.
He does nothing unless it benefits him personally.
This is the scope of his existence.

He really is a fucking lunatic.

Which is why he keeps calling Dems lunatics.

I think this idiot thinks that a few thousand ground troops is enough to “take” Iran and their 90 million people.

I’m reminded of Lindsay Graham: “We did Iwo Jima! We can do this!!!” Yeah, 7,000 U.S. Marines died to take a 9 square mile island. Iran is 636,000 square miles. Now who is the lunatic?

Iran has a six-month supply of missiles and drones.
We have a one-month supply.

Do you know what Iran's statement this morning
was when they heard "boots on the ground"?

"Come Closer."

Advisers are too afraid of his tantrums to tell him the truth, so they're sugar coating everything. Men who are protected from the truth are going to make worse and worse decisions about everything.

Right now, he's got thousands of troops headed to the Middle East, presumably to go in to secure the Strait of Hormuz. It's going to be a turkey shoot for those poor guuys, the cliffs above the Strait are honeycombed with tunnels and fortifications. Oh, and the age for voluntary service has now been raised from 34 to 42. I just wonder how effective that will be ayt luring wannabe Rambos who have been strutting and preening in ragtag militias since their late teens, too chicken to join the real thing.

There is no going back from any of this, I'm afraid. Madmen squander everything--lives, economies, military deterrence---in an attempt to secure their places in future history books. My fervent wish is that this one is never identified by name and that his White House p[ortrit is permanently obscured by a black drape.

I hope we will survive this bleak time. The good news is that MAGAts are starting to realize they've been had, the women at the grocery store and the men at the gas pump and Limbaugh is still dead and unable to fill their empty heads with slogans. They're not coming back from this, eityher.

As long as nobody lobs that first nuke, I think we will survive this. We will just be very different as we work out how to survive another wannabe king. Our founding fathers knew Fatso would be along at some point. They didn't foresee a gang of plutocrats buying up the country including whole branches of government whose job it is to put checks on his power.

but clearly casualties will be very high.

Dont='t forget that our military has been well trained for war. Theirs has been well trained for martyrdom. There will be Russian style meat assaults , the suicide on the Iranian side.

I honestly can't see any other way to secure the Strait at this point. It might have been different if the Strait had been the priority from the first day, but this bunch just doesn't think in those terms.

In any case, the whole thing makes me sick. Starting a war is never a good idea, it squanders good will from all sides as well as getting us involved in yet another unwinnable quagmire. This whole thing is an example of the worst sort of bungling.

incredible numbers of ground soldiers and their number of drones.... is much much greater than the U.S. Republican Mass Media have been reporting.......................

Sending 5,000 of even our top ground troops to invade Iran on the ground would be insanity.....I would still consider any initial invasion of 5K to be ludicrous.......

(besides there are large numbers of our elite special forces, already covertly down in Ecuador, fighting to keep their Trump friendly dictator in power........)

If we do anything more with IRAN, other than just backing out, the entire Mid East will blow wide open, causing grief through out the entire world......Interesting that Republicans and Trump have completely taken over Venezuela recently, for no reason........considering that Venezuela has THE largest oil reserves in the world, even greater than the Saudis and Russia's.......

Wars are always hell. Iran is #1 sponsor of terrorist acts. All 911 hijackers had visited Iran. Why?
Why Iran kept American hostages for 444 days? Why Iran needs nuclear weapons when none of their Arab neighbors have them? I do not feel safe with current regime in Iran equipped with nukes.

because all the sabre rattling done, mostly by Republicans, only served to frighten the people there into supporting a bad government that everyone too young to remember the revolution wants to get rid of.

I am especially against how stupidly this war has been fought. The Iranians told us what they planned to do and Fatso's team ignored it and now we're pretty well fucked.

Iranian actions of developing nukes and long range missiles to deliver them left no choice.
Iran said their rockets have a maximum range of 2500 km. Then iran sends 2 missiles 4000 km at Diego Garcia. This proves Iran lies. I am sorry, I do not trust the current regime. Now Iran's navy ships are all sunk, fighter jets bombed out, munition plants pretty much gone. If war ends suddenly, Iran's offensive capabilities have been set back 2 decades. Good time to end the war. Continuing the war will gain nothing.

There has been a group of intelligence (?) people and military theorists in the Pentagon who have been hell bent to start a war against Iran for decades. They finally got a president who is weak and ignorant enough to go for it. That makes this war especially stupid, it just didn't have to be. The Iranians have been disgusted with things for a long time, especially now that their government has slaughered tens of thousands of citizens in the street for the crime of expressing a contrary opinion.

And now that Iran has done exactly what it said it would do if attacked, the whole world is angry at us and rightly so.

I honestly don't know how we're going to get out of this one.

In India, my best childhood friends were Muslim neighbors. I saw first hand how radical Islam thinking is. I am 109% sure if the mullah regime got hold of nukes and long range ICBM's they will send those to United States. My roommate at u of Iowa was from Iran. He did not go back to Iran after the Ayatollah took over.

Our knowledge of the international travels of the al Qaeda operatives
selected for the 9/11 operation remains fragmentary. But we now have evi-
dence suggesting that 8 to 10 of the 14 Saudi “muscle” operatives traveled into
or out of Iran between October 2000 and February 2001.

https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/GPO-911REPORT/pdf/GPO-911REPORT.pdf

They transited Iran enroute to Afghanistan, taking advantage of the Iranian policy to not stamp Saudi passports.

Why are you spouting disinformation?
