Johnson says supplemental Pentagon funds 'probably' in reconciliation as Senate moves forward
Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) on Wednesday said supplemental funding for the Pentagon due to strikes in Iran would probably be part of a second Republican-only reconciliation bill, and he is glad the Senate is moving forward on such a measure.
Johnson in a press conference said using the special reconciliation process which bypasses the need to get Democratic support to meet the Senates 60-vote threshold would be necessary because he does not think Democrats will vote for supplemental funding for the Department of Defense.
I dont even think they would agree to vote on a bill that would simply restock our munitions. We used some of those, as you know, in Operation Epic Fury, and weve got to do that. Its a necessity, Johnson said. I dont think we can count on their vote to do the simple, basic responsibility of Congress.
And so it is part of reconciliation, probably. Well see, Johnson said.

Probably? You don't know for fact. What a half assed job on your part.
