I'm subbing in an elementary school today and one of the kids who is out today has been diagnosed with hand foot and

And mouth disease (HTMD) this is the first time I have ever heard of this type of outbreak in all my years of teaching and even when I was in school. It is so disgusting that now because of the Sec of Health brainworm we are seeing diseases long thought eliminated.

True it is not very common. My youngest had it when he was 4 but none of my other children did. This was due to a good pediatrician who knew what it was and the simple ways of reducing transmission.

But that doesn’t change the fact that this administration makes all of us less healthy

The bovine hoof and mouth disease is a different virus.

Agree with the others, it's a common, non-vaccine preventable virus. I had it 20 years ago as an adult, hurts like the dickens to have to walk around when you've got it.

Had a family reunion last year where nearly the the kiddos had it, or had given it to their younger siblings. That's why you don't see it in K-12, they have already had it. Wish it would have a vaccine.

It is endemic. In young children it is common and a minor illness. I had a 16 year old patient who got it - could barely walk because of all the blisters on his feet.

eat & drink anything.

I don't want to make light of this condition, but this was a complete setup that I had to mention it.

Got it from one of my preschool kiddos as an adult. Not fun, went through all the symptoms, which lasted a month. From a fever, rash and joint pain, don’t want to ever get it again.
